Deathstroke is The Villain for Ben Affleck's Solo Batman Movie!

It looks like we now know who the main villain of the upcoming solo Batman movie will be and its going to be Deathstroke. The character has shown up more and more in modern animated films and even in the Arkham video games as well as being on the DC television show Arrow. He hasn't been in any live action film as of yet and it looking like he is finally going to have his chance now.

In a recent tweet Ben Affleck revealed to what looks like test footage during the pre-production of the standalone Batman movie. The film is still a ways off but that fact that we are already seeing elements of the film now does start the hype train a bit early. I think that Deathstroke can be a cool villain, but I am not sure if he is fit for the MAIN villain just yet. I will have a see a bit more but I can be confident in that.

Avatar Sequels Announced! Along with their Release Dates!

James Cameron came to CinemaCon 2016 to announce that he will be continuing with his Avatar franchise but also laying out the release dates for all of these sequel films to have.

Each film will stand alone but also tell a complete story in this epic saga, Cameron said.

Here are all the release dates:

Avatar 2 - Christmas 2018
Avatar 3 - Christmas 2020
Avatar 4 - Christmas 2022
Avatar 5 - Christmas 2023

Cameron has been working with his team of writers to come up with scripts and designs for up to several Avatar movies. It is very clear that Cameron wants this to become his new star wars saga.

I guess we will have to wait and see if all his work pays off when the first sequel arrives. But the key difference now is, that he has to compete with the Star Wars films that also release the same time every year from now on.

The Fifth Indiana Jones Film is Coming 2019!

Disney purchased the Indiana Jones franchise just a couple of years ago and with that, everyone has been wondering what this will mean! Will it be a reboot? casting a brand new actor to take on the role? or will it be another sequel where Harrison Ford will return? Of course there is still the possibility of both happening, where the torch will be past on to a new actor.

Today Disney announced that the next Installment in the Indiana Jones franchise will hit theaters on July 19, 2019! Even better new, both Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg are set to return as well!

Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn said:

“Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019… It’s rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.”

There isn't any other news concerning the other cast members, the story, or title of the next film but we know for sure that it is coming.

J.K. Simmons Cast as Commissioner Gordon for Justice League!

DC is quick to grab whoever they want!

J.K. Simmons, who you might know from the Sam Raimi Spider Man trilogy as well as winning an Oscar for Whiplash is now casted to be the next Commissioner Gordon in the new DC Cinematic Universe! Justice League is already slated to start filming in just a month from now and the time has already arrived for characters in the Batman films to be replaced once again.

Chris Terrio is writing the script for Justice League and Zack Snyder is attached to direct. Justice League Part One will release in Nov 17, 2017 with Part Two following in June 14, 2019.

First Trailer and Poster for 10 Cloverfield Lane A.K.A Cloverfield 2!

Today we get the first poster and trailer to the follow up to Cloverfield. It is titles 10 Cloverfield Lane. A title which could mean anything at this point. Other than it being a sequel to Cloverfield I don't know much about the film whether it will take place after the first movie or will be a prequel in some way, who knows!

I have not seen the trailer and I don't plan on seeing the trailer until after I see the movie. Normally I wouldn't mind, but because they went out of their way to keep the making of this movie a secret, I can make sure that I will try my best to know as little as possible going into this movie.

Transformers 5 Will Be Michael Bay's Last Film in Series

Michael Bay is coming back for one more Transformers before passing the torch to another director to take on the franchise. All the Michael Bay directed Transformers films have been blockbuster hits at the box office and knowing this will be his last I'm sure this one will be included. There has also been mention not too long ago that the franchise will continue long past Transformers 5 so this would make sense that this would be his last. He had this to say to Rolling Stone.

“I’m doing Transformers … 5, is it? J.J. [Abrams] told me, ‘You’re the only guy that could do this.’ But it’s time to move on. One more.”

Transformers 5 is slated for released in summer 2017 and currently doesn't have any details on the plot nor the name of the film it self. I hope that Michael Bay can finally make the Transformers film that most fans have been wanting especially because this will be his last contribution to the franchise. We will have to wait and see until then.

Planet of Luke Skywalker's Location Name Revealed!

SPOILERS!!!

For those who have seen The Force Awakens, you find out that the location of Luke Skywalker is at the very first Jedi Temple ever created. Over the weekend a script from The Force Awakens was leaked and in the scripted revealed the name of the planet that this Jedi Temple is located. Even in the novelization of the movie the name is mentioned as being the first Jedi Temple.

The name of the planet is Ahch-To!

This is where Luke has been hiding for the majority of the film until the very end of course, but because this is a new planet tons of mystery and questions come up about this planet.

Why is there only a small island that seems to be the focus on that planet?

What is the history behind that planet?

Why is Luke Skywalker hiding there?

There are more but because none of them are answer I will save those for when Episode 8 is released. Until then I will be looking forward to all the books that connect the 30 year gap from Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens that will hopefully elaborate about this planet and why it will be important in the story later on.

Christopher Nolan's Next Directing Film To Be Action Thriller ‘Dunkirk’ For Warner Bros.

Christopher Nolan's next film will be going to France during the World War II Era.

"Dunkirk" will be based off of Nolan's original screenplay and will be set during the evacuation of France during World War II.

“We are thrilled to be continuing our collaboration with Christopher Nolan, a singular filmmaker who has created some of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful films of all time,” said Greg Silverman, president, Creative Development and Worldwide Production. “‘Dunkirk’ is a gripping and powerful story and we are excited to see Chris, Emma and their cast realize it on the big screen.”

The film is dated for a July 21, 2017 release and will be shot on the large-scale formats of IMAX 65mm and standard 65mm film to achievement the best image quality and experience for the film.

It will be shooting in May of 2016 and will be using real locations from the historical events.

Pixar Planing More Sequels, Toy Story 4 is One of Them

Pixar is planing more movies and Toy Story is one of them. There is a leaked photo going around and even trending on twitter of Pixar's all upcoming movies that will be releasing over the coming years. Most of them are expected and some we already knew was announced.

But what surprised me the most was that all of the movies they are making are sequels with only possible one or two original movies. I understand that most people just want to see the same thing with the same characters, but what I always used to like about Pixar was how they would always find something new to today.

Even this year they came back with Inside Out which felt more mature and is one of the best movies ever released by them. So seeing them return to making sequels again does worry me.

What do you think? Is Pixar doing the right thing, or should they make original movies again?

Roger Deakins is the cinematographer for the 'Blade Runner 2'

Just from the news alone, Blade Runner 2 is mostly likely going to be the most gorgeous movie ever made.

It was just announced that Roger Deakins, who has lens films like Skyfall, Prisoners, and Unbroken most recently is re-teaming with Denis Villeneuve for the Blade Runner Sequel. They last worked together on Prisoners, which did a great job at creating a dark atmosphere, something that Blade Runner 2 has to get right.

I think this is great new and even though I really don't want a sequel to Blade Runner, all the news to come out of the film so far has been great.

Next Planet of the Apes film called War of the Planet of the Apes!

Today is was announced that the next film in the Planet of the Apes film will be called War of the Planet of the Apes.

My first impression, is that its very long, but also this fits in perfect based on what this new trilogy of movies has been leading to. Knowing what is going to happen based on the title makes me really excited to see what will happen in the film.

I really liked the direction that Dawn of the Planet of the Apes it went in and when that filmed ended it very much hinted that the next movie will be a war movie. Matt Reeves is returning to direct and I do believe write as well.

Josh Boone writing & directing X-MEN spin-off, THE NEW MUTANTS for FOX

Ever since First Class it seem that Fox has been taking the X-Men universe more serious and after Days of Futures past it seem they are finally taking it into full affect. There are already a few X-Men related movies announce such as Deadpool, Apocalypse, and even Gambit. Today it was announced that Josh Boone is going to write and direct along with Knate Gwaltney, The New Mutants, a spinoff based on the comic. I personally know nothing about this comic, which is nice to see them bringing something new to the screen. Especially after something like Guardians of the Galaxy, and with Batman v Superman, you don't really need to make separate movies to put a team together.

Either way I'm looking forward to this and curious to where they take this X-Men universe in the future.

First Trailer for 'The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water'

Today we got the first trailer for "SpongeBob: Sponge Out of Water" which stars voices Antonio Banderas, Tom Kenny, Clancy Brown, Rodger Bumpass, Bill Fagerbakke, Carolyn Lawrence, and Douglas Lawrence.

Its looks like with this film they are taking a different approach unlike the first one where the majority of the film takes place outside the water world.

Alex Kurtzman to Direct 'The Mummy' Reboot!

Not only directing the 'Venom' movie, Alex Kurtzman is in talks to be directing the reboot installment of 'The Mummy'. The movie is set to be released on May 22nd, 2016.

It was announced a while back that the studio is going to be developing a cinematic universe but with their own monsters and I'm assuming that it will start with 'The Mummy' reboot. He is producing with Chris Morgan and Sean Daniel on developing the feature. Kurtzmann doesn't have many films on is directing list, with is directorial debut just recently.

Jeff Kirschenbaum, co-producer of production for Universal commented on the choice with the following:
“Over the course of developing The Mummy, Alex has demonstrated such clarity and passion about this character and mythology, He knows why The Mummy has fascinated us for so long and how to bring that into an inventive, incredible new adventure. It became obvious that he is the perfect choice to be not only one of the narrative engineers of this new vision but its director as well.”

Looks like the trailer that was shown at Comic Con just last week was realized today, and its looks fantastic!

Tarantino Debuts First Official Poster for 'The Hateful Eight'

It looks like 'The Hateful Eight' is actually going to be a reality. Today we got a poster for the movie that is due to start filming early next year in 2015. The movie will be filmed in 70mm Super CinemaScope, which is what Tarantino had promised when he wrote the script.

Earlier this year the script for Tarantino's screenplay was leaked online and that caused the film's production to be put on hault. But last week at Comic Con, the director anounced that the film will be his next project he is working on.

This is definitly a movie I will be looking foward to next year.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies Teaser Trailer

Today we finally got our first teaser of the final film in the hobbit trilogy. In the trailer we see the aftermath of the last movie where Smaug was about to destroy the town he was headed for. It looks like they is definitely going to be a huge battle in this one just like the last film in The Lord of The Rings. My only problem is how little they have use the hobbit him self. Maybe this one will redeem the previous two films.

Disney acquires 'Indiana Jones'

Today it was confirmed that Disney has now acquired the rights to the Indiana Jones franchise from Paramount. Just last year Disney had bought the rights to the star wars franchise and quickly followed with the announcement of a new trilogy. So far there hasn't been any news of a possible new installment, but I will definitely expect something announced before the end of the year.

I'm curious as to what they are planning with the franchise, with the last film be wildly received as a disappointment, I wouldn't be surprised if they planned out a new possible trilogy.

Kevin Feige Thoughts on Vin Diesel & Joseph Gordon Levitt Marvel Movie Rumors

While promoting the new Thor film, Thor: The Dark World, Kevin Feige talks about some of the recent news and rumors. He discussed this with The Huffington Post about some of the recent casting rumors.

Concerning Vin Diesel, Kevin Feige said:

He’s made so much news with this, I had to double check this morning to confirm that there still hasn’t been an official announcement that he’s a part of “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

Yeah, I think it’s close. I think it’s close to being official for the Groot character. But, not 100 percent yet.

Concerning Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Kevin Feige said:

Why is Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s name always come up when a new Marvel movie is being cast? This has happened three times now.

Well, sometimes it’s because we are legitimately talking, and sometimes it’s just because he’s a prominent actor out there now. And lots of rumors surround prominent actors.
