Now I like Distict 9 when I first saw, but After my first view of the movie I haven't had the erge to watch it again. I saw Elysium and while it wasn't as good as District 9, it very much felt like the same movie from the style and story and the way the message of the film is presented. Unfortunately Chappie is the third movie in a row to continue that trend.
The movie has a good premise but the follow through isn't anything interesting and thats where the movie kinda goes down hill. There really isn't any likable character in this movie, including chappie and a lot of the goal of these character doesn't make any sense like the goal of getting a robot like chappie.
The biggest problem all lies in the script where the dialogue is cheesy to just plan bad. To the story and plot and motivations just not making any sense and are just dumb in many moments. You see a lot of the cliches of villains and if you've seen one Neil Blomkamp movie, you will feel like you've seen Chappie.
I was hoping that Chappie would be a return to District 9 but it ends up be his worse film to date. I'm somewhat hoping that this ends up be his worse and his streak of bad films ends here and improves from now on with the next Alien film.
