House of Cards Season 3 (2015) - TV Review
TV - MA | 13 Episodes
Genre: Drama
Stars: Kevin Spacey, Robin Wright, Michael Kelly, Molly Parker
House of Cards season 3 is quite different from the past two seasons. From tone to characters and the overall feel of the show.
Based on the way last season ended, I was expecting this season to almost be like season 5 of Breaking Bad. Where this will be the highpoint of Frank Underwood and building up to the point where everything will go wrong for him.
We do get variations of that but what we mostly get is different from what I expected.
I noticed about half way through the season that just about every episode feels like a build up and set up to nothing ever that ever really follows through. I let it go from the first couple of episodes, but to keep it going all through the story made it become a problem.
One of the biggest changes that I noticed in the show was the characters themselves. They changed them so much that its noticeable less than half way through this season.
As for the plot, I do have a hard time looking back and asking, What exactly happened that had consequences? There really isn't anything that I can think of that really answers that question.
I was hoping this would be the last season of House of Cards, not because I don't like the show, but because I would've liked to see the show not go on longer than it need and have a well paced show that could be like one long movie.
This season was different. It was still good but I was expecting something else. I'm still looking forward to the next season, but just not as much as I was for this season.
