I had little knowledge going into this movie only knowing that it was based off a novel and when the trailer was released I only watched a quarter of it. Mostly due to knowing how much trailers spoil the movies these days. I am glad I stayed away from knowing much of this movies because this is one of the best movies of the year!

The film follows a mother and son living in a small room that they have been trapped inside of for years and years. You get to experience what they do from day to day and even how they just survive in this tiny room for so long. Its not until the mother decides that enough is enough and comes up with different ways of escaping the room. That is when the film really takes off and even leads into one of the most tense scenes in any movies I've seen.

Brie Larson gives one of the best if not, the best performance of the year. The only rival she has is Jacob Tremblay, who plays Jack in the movie who gives the best child performance I've ever seen in a film. The dynamic the two have is what gives the emotional core through out the film steady and always present. We even gets moments from Jack's point of view on how he sees the room and even the world around it, which contracts his mother viewpoint because she wasn't always living in the room for he whole life.

Just when you think the film is going to have a happy ending, its only the halfway point and that when the movies goes in a new direction. Focusing on how they try to adjust back into the real world after being in the room for so many years. I found it interesting how all the events played out after, showing how just because you get out of one situation doesn't change that it will be easy from there on out.

Room is a fantastic movie and is one of the best movies I've seen this year. Its a tense emotional experience that will leave you with memorable moments that will stick with you long after the movie ends. The performances by Brie Larson and Jacob Tremblay are easily the best and most memorable of the years. If there is any movie you watch from 2015 this should be it.
