Shadow of Mordor Is Taking Everything In The Right Direction
Gameplay
Shadow of Mordor takes the best elements from the Batman Arkham series as well as the Assassin's Creed series and places them in the Lord of the Rings universe. You are able to use stealth and have targets to take out with quick escape. Even better you have an open world that actually lets you go everywhere within the area not being block or not allow to enter a certain building just because they didn't want to building anything within the model.
Story (In The Lord of The Rings World)
The character of the Ranger is so cool. To the point that I would be okay if they decided to deviate from the movies in future games just so this character can save the world on his own. He has a much more compelling story and has tons of choices in terms of where to take him as a character.
The Nemesis System
The Nemesis System really adds a level to this game that hasn't really been used in other games. Instead of fighting a bunch of nameless sub bosses with little to no personality here it gives them some character and personality that makes every villain you come across interesting. The plus side of all of this is how it uses this to make each villain personal to the point of having them remember you or become afraid of you or run away because they've heard about you. This add dynamic as you can really create your own arch nemesis just by encountered enemies in the game.
