Star Trek Beyond Trailer Review
The Star Trek Beyond Trailer is here!
The first thing I noticed about the trailer was the lighter tone and feel it had compared to the two previous films. Or at least the trailer those films had, I still remember the Star Trek Into Darkness trailer and how it was so overboard in its seriousness that it kinda put me off in its initial impression. This one takes an opposite approach almost giving it a Guardians on the Galaxy feel at least with the type of music playing during it.
THE OLD STYLE SETS
I like how this film is going back to how the Original TV was in presenting its worlds. You can see the rocky area in one shot could almost pass as a set from the TV Show which is more of a neat thing to see. This is something that was kinda missing in the previous Star Trek films and really wasn't present that much in the older movies as well. But because these films are set as prequels it would only be natural to want to get as close as you can without making it feel dated to what the TV Show was like and I am glad they are compromising.
EXPLORE A PLANET...THINGS GO WRONG
The basic plots of most episodes from the T.O.S. was how mostly the plots would boil down to - Explore a planet, things go wrong.
Now this trailer didn't giveaway too much of the plot but just based on the visuals alone it might actually seem they are borrowing those elements in the plot. You can see the exploration side along with what looks like the alien species that possibly live on that planet. Whether they are all evil and try to take over Earth or maybe they are just made for humans invading their planet is still yet to be known.
FAST AND FURIOUS IN SPACE!
The one thing you can definitively admit with the Fast and Furious movies is that they are super over the top and fun! When it came time to Fast Five the series seemed to go more a action route and actually became better films. If Justin Lin can bring that over to Star Trek we might get one of the most entertaining Star Trek films we've ever had.
I like the trailer it looks fun and could have potential I would like to know a bit more about the plot in the future but for right now, it sold me on seeing the movie!
