Taken 3 (2015) Movie Review

PG-13  |  109 min

Genre:  Action | Crime | Thriller

Director: Olivier Megaton
Writer: Luc Besson, Robert Mark Kamen
Stars:Liam Neeson, Maggie Grace, Famke Janssen, & Forest Whitaker

Plot: Ex-government operative Bryan Mills is accused of a ruthless murder he never committed or witnessed. As he is tracked and pursued, Mills brings out his particular set of skills to find the true killer and clear his name.

The first Taken movie was a big surprise by being a movie that was actually more than just another action movie, but so far the Taken sequels haven't been on par with the original nor have they even made an attempt to be anything more but just bad sequels. Anyone who has seen the sequels know that there has been a significant downgrade in the quality. The plot of Taken 2 and 3 are either taken from most action movies, or just a plot that just not believable even in the Taken world.

Taken 3 flips the roles to now the main character, Bryan Mills is now on the run for a crime he is framed for. He has to solve the mystery while the police are chasing him down at the same time.

The problem with this movie is that it actually has less action than the previous movies, not that the action isn't happen, but the way it was edited, you actually don't see anything of what you want to see from a Taken movie. It ends up being boring in some parts and lacks any excitement that you come to expect from a Taken film.

This is a movie that is better to skip, and just watch if you happen to catch on TV in a bout a year or less.
