Dawn of The Planet of The Apes Movie Review
Dawn of the planet of the apes stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Keri Russel and Gary Oldman, and follows Caesar and the rest of the apes ten years after the first movie. The apes have created a home in the forest they escaped in, and have avoided all contact from humans until one day a groups of humans run into the apes when trying to reconnect the power to the city. This ends up creating a conflict between the humans and apes and even within the apes themselves.
Pros
- Great visual effects
- Story went in non conventional directions for the most part
- Fantastic cinematography with great use of long shots
Cons
- Characters were flat, specifically human characters
- Ending became quite predictable story wise
Overall
Dawn of the planet of the apes is just as good as the first movie and does leave me optimistic for where they take the next movie.
