X-Men: Days Of Future Past To Screen In 48 Frames-Per-Second

Two sources have been reporting that the next X-Men film will be shot on the controversial 48 frames-per-second that was used by Peter Jackson to shoot The Hobbit

"X:DoFP was shot in HFR and will be released in 48fps,” a source told the site. “The filmmakers played coy because of the negative reaction to the technology when The Hobbit film was released, but love the results and will be standing behind a theatrical release in high frame rate.”

The big issue with 48fps is that normally television and movies are viewed at 24fps and with the more frames it distracts the viewers. But with new technology eventually someone finds a way to use it very effectively just like with 3D. The film will be plays in all formats from 2D, 3D, IMAX, and the new 48fps, so it will be interesting to see what people will gravitate more to when the film is released.
